Thanks witeshark.

So are any of those universal cruise systems going to work? Anyone have a suggestion on which one or a switch to add to it?

Thanks for the welcome Komodo. I don't have any pics of it yet. Hopefully I will by the weekend. I spent too much time driving it over the weekend to get around to taking photos

I mean, not to be rude at all, I just want to help and clarify for you....but most e46s should have cruise control.

Or is it an option?

The cruise is on the stearing wheel....

Does your stearing wheel look like this?

If there isn't anything on the stearing wheel....you DON'T have it.
He's probably right.

In that case, I've never heard of an aftermarket cruise control.
Sorry.
My steering wheel looks like the 3rd image you posted. I know it's odd not having it in this car. I was a little surprised. Even the 1990 325i that I had years ago had cruise.

I've found that the mileage with cruise really depends on how many hills you encounter. The cruise is far too agressive going up them.

The main reason I want it is that I regularly drive long distance (5+hrs each way on the weekend,) and would like to be able to relax my leg
