Cold Air Intake...Help please
I'm looking for a quality cold air intake and I'm not sure what to get. Sure I could spend $400 on either a Dinan/GruppeM/Jim Conforti but is it really worth it?
All I need is something to increase the flow to the engine so I was looking around and found some cheap ones on ebay that will fit my car. Would something like this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...QQcmdZViewItem Any feedback on why it is worth spending the extra $ for a "Name Brand" CAI would be appreciated. Thanks. |

uh, no that wont work
EDIT: sorry, let me explain myself further, that looks like short ram intake, which means its going to be sucking in hot air which will give you less HP, all its going to do is sound good. my brother bought a cold air intake for my friend's honda for 169, yea for a honda, so for a BMW, expect to pay a little more |
I have the Conforti, and the quality alone makes the kit worth it. you're much better going off with a name-brand intake, especially for a BMW.

Did you notice the massive heat shield around it? Damn this thread is old. If anyone still cares....bite the bullet and go for the GruppeM CAI. |
I love the sound of Dinan's CAI personally. :thumbup
