License Plate Bulb Issue

Hello Everyone,

I posted this in the Lighting Section of the Forum and thought I would post it here being it is specific to my Model.......

New to the forum. Been a BMW owner and enthusiast for 30 plus years...from a 1600 to 2002's to a few Bavarias's, a 5 Series and recently a 2001 325I with the Sport Package which I really like.

I have an issue with one of the License Plate Bulbs.

The bulb on the Passenger Side barely lights up..... as in extremely dim.

Popped off the Lense, sprayed it with Contact Cleaner (minor corrosion around the contact surface) replaced both bulbs and still dim on the same side.

Should I proceed with removing the plastic piece that contains the Trunk Latch / Lisence plate Bulbs???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

check the ground wire on that side, also make sure the bulbs match.
