Annoying noise

So in my dads 99 328i he has a tape player that he listens to audiobooks on when he commutes to San Francisco every week, and it is starting to make some loud wierd noises and I would like to replace it. What i was wondering is has anyone here taken the origional stock tape deck out to replace with a better cd player or another deck and I could take the old tape deck of your hands for some cash?

If so that would be great.

I currently have the stock player in my car, but i have seen cars with aftermarket CD players. So putting in an aftermarket one is pretty easy, and usually cheaper than replacing the OEM one (the 6-disk changer costs $800 CDN at a dealership). It should have 2 little holes or "ports" on either side of it covered by little tabs. Those ports allow it to be removed and with the proper tool (its like $20) you can pretty much do it urself as long as the wiring harness matches the new one ur putting in.

Thank you for the instructions on how to take it out though I will need that when I replace it

try starting a "wanted to buy" thread in the classified section as well. that might help.
