Damn Potholes
 

I was driving through Mass last week and hit a huge pothole and blew out the elastics in the sidewalls on both passenger side tires. They are now blowing up like baloons. One of my rims got bent too. :angry

Anyone know if we get discounts from tirerack for being a member here? I PM'd Komodo but he is not on and I need to order tires ASAP. Thanks.

i dont know if you can get cheap tires, but you can complain to the police and prove that the pothole caused it and have them pay for your rims and tires

That sucks. The same thing happened to my friend's 540i, he hit a pothole and blew out his rear tire.

As far as I know, we dont get a discount from tire rack, just we get a 6% commission from your purchase, which gets put back into site advertisement.

I know someone from Mass that did that. You get a report and turn all the information to the city where it happened and you get your tires/rims fixed by them :deal Also, it helps UB to order from Tire Rack through the link here ;)

Yeah, in my city if you hit a pothole and it causes damage, you're supposted to pull over immediately and call a police officer out to write a report. If in his report he declares the cause of your damage was the pothole, the city will reimburse you for the cost of repairs.

Could be different in your city though.

And yes, we get 6% of any purchase made through the banner, which goes to advertising and such. :)

There was recently a report on the news stating that Mass had the worst roads in the country and that the average person spends an extra $500 / year on wear and tear due to the shitty roads. Fuck MA roads is right :angry

Same problem here in Jersey. My poor rims- I've hit so many potholes in the last couple of weeks, I'm thinking of changing my name to Dentsky :D The whole northeast in general sucks. I should move back to Texas.

And here's how the reimbursement works in my town: "Hi, officer, can you write a report so I can be reimbursed for damages caused by this pothole . . "

I feel so spoiled. I saw one pothole since I have lived in Florida. I only hit it once, and it was quickly fixed :)

I called the city of Waltham and they said they said that they actually would reimburse me if I send them pics of the damage, a detailed letter explaining what happened, and all receipts :woot
