engine oil leaking inside radiator
Hi, everybody. I have a 2000 323ci, and engine oil is leaking inside the radiator, but no water inside the engine. One mechanic told me it could be oil filter housing gasket, or head gasket. Also another one told me my car has an aluminum engine block and it could be a crack, he already told me i need to replace the engine. i am in hot water, i d not know what i need to do, any suggestions or past experiences?

Its a head gasket man.... $120 and a week if you do it yourself,, (hard as sh*t)
Bout $1800 for a mechanic |
A head gasket would have been the easiest and least expensive problem to fix. However, my head gasket checked out fine and the head was pressure tested (also no problem). That meant the engine block was the issue. Needs new engine so I sold it as-is.

The guy who bought this car had a newer M3 engine he was putting in it. At this point, I don't have plans for another BMW. I loved driving this one, but was majorly disappointed with a bunch of expensive "nuisance" (until this one!) problems. I'm a bit fed up with German cars in general right now because within a couple weeks of the engine going on the BMW, my wife's Audi TT quattro roadster spent 7 weeks in the shop with over $2k of wiring problems. I'm going to think really hard about it before I decide to buy another German vehicle!

I'm sorry for your luck with the Audi as well. German cars are normally very well made. The key to log life with them is proper maintenance. If the maintenance is done right and on time then they last a very long time. Mine has 262,000 km on it.
