Electric seat mal-adusts
 

At zero dark thirty this morning my wife unlocks our 2002 325xi with her key remote. Since I drove it last the seat trys to adjust to her settings but ends up with the seat back too far back and seat too far from the pedals. I pressed the memory buttons and the left/right and up/down switches with only minor success. She was running late for work so we ended up putting a pillow between her and seat rest. Any ideas as to the culprit? The motors seem to engage for just a split second and then stop or all I hear is a click. The mirrors adjust with a memory switch is pressed.
