Brake dash light on!

Hi there... this my first time on this site and so far its been very helpful!

i have a question about my brake dash light, I changed my brakes on the wknd and i changed the brake wear sensor and the light on the dash is still on! is there a step in the process that i haven't done?

On an e36, you turn the key to the Run position without starting the car and leave it for about 90 seconds to reset the brake wear light. I have not had need to try it on an e46, but give it a shot.
