01 E46 325i blown Head gasket! Need options pleease

Hi guys, got myself in abit of a situation. Not sure where to go from here.
I have an 01 325i that blew a head gasket. I have been ringing around and my best option apparently is to replace the motor because of the possible trouble im looking at if i open this motor up due to the all alloy desighn.

Now my cheapest quote atm is $4200 supply and fit a second hand motor plus extras such as hoses or engine mounts ect. Im thinking it will end up being 6000.
I want to know if anyone knows how much trouble it is putting an m3 motor in my car and what has to be done to achive this?
Please send me your thoughts on this and tell me any ideas thanks

not sure about this but have to replace a motor due to a head gasket seems a little extreme to me. most places with just pull the head and if needed mill the head and deck the block and then replace the gasket and done.

to put the m3 motor in I think you need a whole new wiring harness motor transmission and diff but I may be wrong on some of it

M3 motors are "S" series motors. It would required new wiring and electronics.
