Service Manual, let me know what you want to know.
I've noticed at least one person asking for the manual for the E46. I have it, and although I do not plan to part with it, I am offering to aid those in their repairs.
So, let me know what you want to do, I'll look it up and type it out in here. If it's alot of typing, a PDF may be made. Manual covers all US-Spec pre-facelift E46 models (1999-2001) except the M3.
I'm really bored since getting laid off.

Your BMW is a 2003 model year, however, the procedure should be rather similar. When referring to locations of components, I try to make them in relation to their installed position:
Lower Dashboard/Console Switches, replacing:
-Remove shift knob by pulling knob straight off the gearshift lever. NOTE: Removal of the shift knob will require about 90lbs of force. Do not twist knob or locating key can be damaged.
-Pry up on rear of shift boot/bezel to unclip, then remove boot from front retainers.
-Remove retaining screws under transmission selector boot/trim located at the rear of the opening.
Power Window Switches, Replacing:
-To remove the left or right ganged window switches:
Shifter Bezel: Lift up by prying gently.
OR
Shifter Boot: Unclip bottom of boot from center console trim by pushing forward. Pull boot up around shifter, but DO NOT remove.
-Unclip the switch retainer from the rear and pull out switches from under the console trim. Detach the electrical harness connector from the bottom of the switches.
-Installation is the reverse of removal.

How to replace rear quarter window molding
Hi. I've been trying to figure out how to remove the thin rubber molding that fits around the rear quarter windows of my 2002 330i sedan. It's #7 in the following diagram:
I've been told that the rubber seal that fits around the top and side of the rear doors and the vertical trim piece that covers the thin pillar between the quarter window and window of the rear door needs to come off to access that seal. I was wondering if you could tell me if the manual shows how to remove those pieces. If you could post those instructions, it would be great, but even just letting me know if the manual shows these steps would be helpful because I would be willing to buy it myself. Thanks!

Sorry for my delay, seems I did not subscribe to this thread...
Anyway, Joseph, the Bentley manual that I have is for model years 1999 to 2001. Your 2002 Coupe (I assume) is not covered, however, the following is what Bentley recomends as far as the rear window is concerned in '99 to '01 Coupes:

Again, I'm sorry for the delay.
The Bentley manual does not show a listing for the codes you mentioned. The appendix does have a listing of a break down of codes, according to the nomenclature:
P = Powertrain
1 = BMW sanctioned issue
1 = Air/Fuel Injection System
88, 89 = "individual circuits or components"
P-1250 would be the same as above but for Fuel Injection instead of Air/Fuel Injection.

Hi. I appreciate the response! However, I have a 330i Sedan, not a Coupe. I think the 99-01 models and 2002 models are similar in respect to most of the body parts, from what I can see. Does the Bentley manual address the rear quarter window for the sedan? Thanks again.

Backseat removal
I have a 2000 328i I'm needing to know how to remove the backrest portion of the back seat. I think I have the same service manual but there is nothing about backseat removal in it. Thanks

I was afraid of that, unfortunately, there really isn't anything substantial for that window. On page 512-7, the manual details how to remove the anti-trap strip around the rear window.
For most of the procedures involving windows, the manual states to remove the door panel (being careful of any airbags, disconnect battery). Then detaching the window frame molding strip between the rear window and the fixed corner window by peeling the strip off being careful to not tear the strip at the top by the anti-trap strip. Once removed, it can be assumed that you would be able to remove that fixed glass and sealant. Beyond that, there isn't anything else. Sorry.

If you have the same manual (ISBN: 0-8376-0320-X), see page 520-7. It's a single pager, not much information, but gives you a few steps to go through. Let me know if you need it.
