Updating E46 look
How hard/costly would it be to upgrade the appearance of a pre-facelift E46? I am talking about the headlights mainly.
Thanks

Umnitza is a great place to start for headlights. They usually have the best prices, and in my dealings with them in the past... they've had great support. Check out www.unnitza.com and look around a bit.
Just a start.

I'd say its as hard/easy as any other bimmer. Costs money of course. HIDs/DDE lighting for my pre-face lifted E46 goes for around ... : $349.99(headlight housing)+$109(angel eyes)+$300(5000k HIDs) = $758.99. Compare that to dealer prices... : . And also on Umnitza, they have an option for changing to the facelifted assemblies ~$714. I wonder why it is cheaper?

I'll look into that. I probably won't be getting an E46 until next year, but I just wanted to check. I may be getting a 1999 or 2000 328i, jus to keep my username significant hehe.
Thanks guys.

Haha, actually I just put a silver umnitza decal on my back window a few days ago. I'll post pics eventually... not that important though.

You know what? I now almost want to get a pre-facelift E46 (I did get the pre-facelift E36 after all). E46 M3s were never facelifted. Even 2005 M3s have the same headlights as did the very first E46s, back in the 20th century.

Depends on if you want a coupe or sedan. You can still take apart the sedan headlights by clips and ect, but coupe headlights have to be baked in the oven for a few minutes then taken apart.
