So lost... Need Help....
:wtf
I have a 2000 328i, Manual, accidentally left the lights on the other day, and my engine would not turn.. lights turn on radio works fine but nothing coming from the engine... It feels like turning the key without holding down the clutch... no turning, no clicking, nothing... sounds easy enough, i took the battery (delko) in to be recharged... hooked it up... and found my self in the same place.... I tried to jump start it yesterday with no luck... everything works just no turning from the engine... I need help i have a feeling its something easy... i have never had any starting problems this is the first time this happened... I was wondering if its possible that the battery is so dead that it wont even start with a jump??? or if there is something else that i should look at before i go ahead and try to replace the starter? Thank you all in advance... |
Hmm...
Well, if you jump start your battery with another car as the power source, it may not matter so much that the battery is "so dead". Besides, it's the alternator that charges your battery once the engine is running. I'm not sure what your problem is, I'm no expert, however, if you have power, but are unable to start the engine, it would make sence then that it could be your starter. Has anything gotten wet recently? What about fuses? Dough |
Sounds like the starter kill on the passive anti-theft. It kicks in after a power loss. Read the owners manual, it'll have the dis-arm procedure. SHOULD fix you right up.
