2002 325ci - Does it really cost $453 to change the plugs?
Stealership wants $453 to change plugs, replace wires and "reset the computer". I smell a ripoff. I've changed plugs on plenty of cars. Is the E46 that much more complicated? Special plugs?

Wiped the sucker off the forehead years ago - the one and only time I paid for a brake job. Never again. I'll do it myself. Any tips on doing the plugs?

Pelicanparts.com has a nice series of technical articles including sparkplug changing, and while I think that specific one may be geared more toward the E36 M50/M52 engines, there probably isn't much difference. One suggestion, stay with the factory specified plugs, the (supposedly) fancy ones don't work well.

i work at a "stealer" and i dunno how many hrs labor that job costs but i do know the plugs list for like 18 a piece at our dealership and our labor rate is $125/hr. its disgusting to watch sometimes. change em yourself. i dont think you'll even have to reset anything, i could be wrong but i dont think so
