A/C Unit Acting Weird. HELP!

I have a 2001 325ci and my AC unit is acting weird. I will leave the AC on medium vent and it will start switching from low to high by itself although the digital settings stay the same. Its really annoying because when I want to have the AC on the lowest setting, it'll kick into full blast.

It seems to be an electrical problem but I don't know if its the unit itself or the wiring. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so, what you did to fix it. I am thinking that I need to replace the AC control unit. Thanks

Your "final stage" aka "blower resistor" has failed causing the irratic blower speed. Normal occurance on e46's and e39's. Runs about 60$, you have to remove the glove box to replace it. Its under the front of the dash by the blower motor. It should have about 4 or 5 wires running to it and held in by 2 gold t20 torx screws.
