Red face Change Indicator & OBC stalk

I have a new indicator stalk to be fitted, yes and I am doing it. I know the steering wheel has to come off and the airbag. Other than that I can not find any where which tells me how to get the stalk off.

Would this be advisable to do at home?
What tools will I need?
And how long to do it?

Does the removing of the negative terminal from the battery stop the airbag going off?

Many thanks for any answers and help.

My quick response is that no, I don't think that disconnecting the negative lead will stop the airbag from discharging. You running the risk of getting into some pretty dicey territory there in handling an airbag, my advice is either to bone up thoroughly on the proceduree with a good book like Bentley's, or take it to a qualified shop, the savings in doing it yourself, blindly, isn't worth it.
