E46General discussion and technical help for 1999-2004 3 series cars.
well I'm new here and this is my first bmw its a 2001 325i 5 speed sedan
looking to see what kind of mileage you are getting and what % city/highway your are driving so far the gauge is saying I'm getting 32.3 with about 90% highway driving doing 65 the whole time
well me being the curious one I had to figure your numbers out it equates to about 23mpg doing about 50mph and some where between 29-31 doing about 100mph and well thats really moving
you all are probaly going to laugh at me for saying this but my big worry point about this car was the gas mileage I drive about 600 miles a week so it gets a little scary when I was thinking I was going to be getting mid 20's out of the car but seeing that its going to be low to mid 30's it been a big reliefe

Hey, that seems pretty good! With my '95 E36 2.5L 5-speed, I had routinely been getting 31-32 highway between 70-75 mph. Suddenly last fall that's fallen off to ~29, under same driving conditions, which irks me. I think it might be because of the ethanol they're mixing in with the gas now , plus winter formulation.

last time i checked I got around 20 mpg with mostly city driving, but I don't even check anymore, probably cause I don't care about fuel economy at all, plus I'm a fan of "spirited driving"

e36 328i 5speed. i drive about 20 minutes all highway to work and back, BUT i swapped in a 3.15 rear in place of the stock 2.93 so at 80mph im sittin at about 3,400 RPMs. with work driving and some "spirited" driving in the downtime i average about 22 mpg's

I average about 22mpg's according to my on board computer. My mpg's have gone down since i got my 17" wheels. They are heavier than my stock bottlecaps, which bugs me, but oh well. And an E30 325 really gets 26-28 on the highway? That sound low. I drove my E36 325 down to Florida fully loaded with my wife and all of our stuff and got a solid 27mph average (according to obc)
my E46 330ci steptronic averages 29mpg if i go between 65-120
21mpg daily driving in the city and mountain roads.
Shits killing me son.
so i drive the 318. 25-30mpg all the time.
