OBC & Indicator Stalk

This is my 2nd e46, so am quite ok with bits and bobs.

The problem I have is that the OBC does not change when I press the button on the stalk. It is stuck on temp gauge. It worked on the test drive and when I picked the car up a week later.

But know nothing happens, is it possible to switch off or has the stalk broken. I can use the indicators and have not found any other problems.
