Red face Replace the cable on window regulator.

Hi. New to the forum. I have seen many posts about this, but none that try the following, so I want to document it, in case it actually works.

The cable on the window regulator became loose and tangled around the motor, becoming an unusable mess. I am going to try to remove the terminals, buy steel cable from the hardware store, and actually replace the cable on the regulator.

Wish me luck!

check the end of the cable; if the metal end pulled through the plastic end cap,it may not be as simple as you think...there is a reason the cable came loose. Good Luck!

A better use of time and resources would most likely be to just buy another regulator. They honestly aren't that much and any home-made repair has a high possibility of not functioning correctly and giving you headaches down the line. Or it could work perfectly, you never know.
