swarf found in fuel pump E46 05 320 cd m sport
hi dont if anyone can help but my bmw 320 cd m sport has now been of the road for 3 weeks & bmw have just told me it is not covered under warrenty due to finding swarf in the fuel pump,it just stopped & after bmw assistance said it needed a new ecu it was taken to bmw where they replaced the ecu then the injectors,i picked it up & it didnt even get me home, they then said it was the fuel pump ordered it but refused to fit it due to the swarf so im now trying to source the parts & try & repair it for less than the 4284 pounds bmw have quoted me any help in this matter would be greatfully appreciated,i know that i have never put petrol in the car, could bmw be trying to fob me off ?

none at all bmw have said that it could have been in there before i got it 8 months ago & it looks like the there could have been a clean up job done on it & a mate says that even if a small ammount was left then it would keep getting recycled round because it wouldnt get burnd & would keep returning back to the tank, just wanted to make sure as its still there till monday then i,ll be paying for it to be fixed

ps bmw,s report says stripped engine manifold & drew out samples of fuel from supply system.Found metal particles from fuel pump & filter indicating petrol has been in the tank
it seems strange that its taken over 8 months & 12000 miles to surface though dont you think ?

its fixed now,no thanks to bmw though,it turns out the pump was running 200 bar over pressure on tick over & upto 500bar over when working hard which destroyed the injectors,it should run at 1200 bar working hard but mine was up near 1700bar,hence the injectors couldnt take it,thats why it didnt even get me home when bmw changed just the injectors,so the repair bill wasnt quite the 4284 quid bmw quoted me,got it done for 958,but bmw wouldnt beleave me & still insist it was swarf in the system
