Which Tranny fluid for my car?
I have an 06 325i and want to change the Tranny fluid and filter at 30,000 miles even though the Dealer told me it is 100,000 mile fluid. Can anyone tell me where I can get the fluid. The Dealer told me that no one makes the fluid for that car yet and would cost $50.00 per liter plus the filter costing a total of around $400.00 to $500.00 for them to do it. I called a couple of Tranny shops locally and they told me they can do it but will they just use any tranny fluid? Thanks.

BMW does say, atleast for the older cars, that their tranny fluid is lifetime. while that is not true, it definitely isnt 30K. i would say around 75K if you want to do it really early. if your transmission is acting up at 30K take it to the dealer and have them fix it, or maybe reset its settings and 'retune' it, for the lack of a better term

I don't know where you can get it, but it's definately not regular atf. Do not use regular atf. If you were to see it, you'd swear it was some type of smelly motor oil-fairly thick.
