AC/Heat Fan comes on and off intermittently ? Please help - United Bimmer Community

The Fan seems to follow the speeds properly i.e. 1 is slow 4 is fast. But turns on at its own will. with 95% remaining turned off.

Can anyone guide as to how can DIY it ? replace anything and how to access that component from the Dash ?

Thats great atleast I can direct the shop guy to the right thing. I found some DIY images for 5 series but there were none for e46 models.

For the e46 resistor location check on right hand side footwell in the covers on the left leg side, a flashlight will be handy.
Replaced mine as a D.I.Y. and it was easy, just had to do some contorsinist moves(bending) to do but it took me less than an hour to complete the fix.
