My Car is not engaging
Hi guys i do have a problem my car (E46 ,2001,325i) is failing to engage it only engages when the engine is not running.This just started all of a sudden.What could be the problem?Please help guys...some were telling me that it could be the clutch kit.

engaging being ints not going into gear?
automatic i assume?
how many miles? have you changed the tranny fluid, if so was it after 100k miles?

sounds like the clutch is not working, what does the clutch pedal feel like when you press it to the floor? It is hydraulic clutch on your car so it may well need bleeding or there may be a hydraulic failure or a component of your clutch may have failed, thrust bearing or pressure plate.

Auto trans. and Standard trans both have clutches... The auto has a clutch pack internal
...if it is an auto it may be the neutral safety switch that has become inoperative and is causing the problem.
...if it is a standard it may be the throw out bearing is no longer allowing the clutch to engage. Do you hear a constant whirring noise when the clutch is not depressed ?
Sorry for your trouble... Hope it is solved without too much fuss.

Yeah i suppose cos i took it to service center and found that the clutch kit is gone.Let me just replace the Clucth kit ones.
