03 325i misfire

My wife just purchased a used 325i with 43k miles. Ran fine at first but after a couple of days the dreaded service eng soon light came on with a code indicating misfire #1 cyl along with the rough running. I've read about the recall of coil packs and I checked the dates on the coil packs and they seem to have been replaced, checked the plug and switched coil packs to no avail . All that is left and I haven't got around to it yet, is to check for a vacume leak which I now suspect because while idling ,when I give it a little throttle a here a slight whistling sound at first and then disappears. I would rather let the dealer have a look at it but it's a 170 mile ride there. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there is a troublesome vaccume line in perticular I should look at and if it would be safe to drive it in this condition to the dealer. Also...wouldn't other cylinders misfire too if it were a vaccume line, just makes sense to me.

did the car run out of gas at some point? or come very close to running out of gas. if so your SEL can come on and throw a code for misfire.

but since you have a whistle sound im not to sure. check your vacuum lines. i dont think you have too many. if you go to realoem.com and search for the vacuum lines you can get an idea of how many you have to check.

when checking them squezze them a little, cause they may look fine but youll find as your squeeze them they have small cracks/holes.
