First Brake Job --- - United Bimmer Community

Okay so I just finished up my first brake job the other day. Replaced all the pads, sensors and measured the thickness of the rotors.

It actually went really smoothly, first time changing brakes on a car myself, so I was kind of nervous.

I got Pagid pads and 2 new sensors from pelican parts, and just some anti-squeal stuff from pepboys.

Reset the car and the Brake lamp went out.

Test drive, and they felt fine. They're broken in now and don't make any noise, not even a squeak and feel great.
Never getting my brakes changed by someone else again.

i did my swap like a few months ago, i get 4 x-drilled and slotted rotors with axxis ultimate pads... and i flushed it with ATE superblue. i didnt know how good my brakes were until very recently when someone was tailgating the hell out of me for a while(i rarely ever do this) so i braked checked her, pushed the brake pedal like 3/4's of the way down and ill i heard was a very long and loud screech, followed by a horn ...

that'll teach her

^^^ i dunno, when someones tailgating me I prefer to use the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal.

True, there is just always the risk they suck at driving and just run right up your ass. which would suck.

I have used both of those methods. but recently, i have used the windshield washer. See how they like getting sprayed.

Good Work on doing them yourself, the brakes really aren't a very difficult to do, I had the same response after I did it the 1st time on my own.

I'm weary on brake checking people because I worry they are idiots and will run into me, I prefer the accelerator and to see if they have the balls to come after me.

yea thats why i do it very rarely, i love my car too much, but what ill normally do is, lets say speed limit is 40, they tailgate me, ill go 15mph until they get the point. i tried that this time but i realized there was someone behind her so i actually sped up, and then a minute later she caught up to me, so, well, last resort

I recently completed my first rear rotor and pad replacement and all went well...except that the parking brake no longer holds the car. Any one know why this happened? Or is a parking brake adjustment always necessary when swapping rear rotors..

uh...since I did my brakes, I've also noticed a lack of hold from the parking brake... I think my dad fixed it partly, because it got a bit better, but it really happened to me a couple months ago that I drove for 10 kilometers until I noticed the parking brake was tightened
