19's rub when hitting bumps
Hello,
I just bought my friend's 19' wheels and they look great on my car but my only probleme is that they rub the inside of they wheel base when I hit any bumps on the road. I've read a couple of options but I need better details. How can I resolve this issue?? thanks |
Do they rub the front or back or both?
19's Look great but there just a little too big. With 19's you cant lower the car or ittl the rims wont fit. Your best bet is to take it to an auto body shop and get the fenders rolled. |
I second the option of rolling your fenders. I had to do the same when I put my borbets in the back and they rubbed. Also, if your car is lowered, look at ways of trying to stiffen your suspension in the back/ front so it doesn't bottom out from the suspension travel. Good Luck.

If they're rubbing, then the offset is incorrect. You can roll the fenders, but that to me seems pretty ludicrous. I think you should return the wheels and get ones that fit correctly.

Don't bother rolling, just go to a body shop and have them take an air saw and cut the lip off! Then have em put some seam sealer on there and undercoated it and your good to go. I've had three on my Bimmers done this way.
19X10s TUCKED w/ No rubbing! :woot http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...B/DSC00534.jpg |
Thanks for the feedback
You guys are great, your feedback was alot of help. I took my car to BMW specialist to get my fenders rolled. The guy pretty much flipped out on me for trying to roll my fenders. So ultimately I'm just going to get the same size wheels with the right offset.
Once again. thanks |
