The problem may not be with the brakes/rotors, but could be with the ball joints, hence a more involved job. My advice is reputable independent shop first, then dealer, if you're uncertain as to the real cause.
You may have an option besides the dealer. When I was in Georgia I was lucky enough to have a German mechanic named Dieter who worked on nothing but Bimmers and Benz's. He was BMW certified from Germany, super honest, and had fair prices. Look in the phone book and see if you see a place with a name like "Autobahn" or something super German and check it out.
