My mother's car used to do that. All the time. That symptom is attributed to "corroded" contacts. BavAuto sells a contact cleaner specifically for that. It's called DeoxIT, part number D5M2-15 in the BavAuto catalog. BavAuto

If it isn't the contact, the actual socket may be melted. (Generally the bulb still works.) That also happened on her 528i. I forgot. So, you might want to check the socket.
