Bck light failure
 
My back light falure light is on, for both sides, but all of my lights work :bash any ideas what it could be and how to locate it :) thank you :iwave

My mother's car used to do that. All the time. That symptom is attributed to "corroded" contacts. BavAuto sells a contact cleaner specifically for that. It's called DeoxIT, part number D5M2-15 in the BavAuto catalog. BavAuto

I cleaned the contacts and it still is not working, is there a sensor maybe that I can repleace?

is the 3rd brake light working? Many people forget that one.

If it isn't the contact, the actual socket may be melted. (Generally the bulb still works.) That also happened on her 528i. I forgot. So, you might want to check the socket.

Another thing to make sure of, after validating all brake lts work, use the reset button on right side of dash cluster - that clears the fault codes.
