In case you ever take your door handle apart

the screw taht holds on the handle from the inside is a reverse threaded screw. (if you have the swivel handel 8/00 and up i believe)

I just spent 3 hours figuring that out. :angry

ok so..i didnt actually end up taking my door handle off. I left the assembly in and just changed the cable to the lock.

If anyones Door handle does not open the door ask me for specifics cause i can help.

i say he should have asked people to take a video whenever they try to take theirs off. that could provide some good quality entertainment for a while.

E46 Door Handle Problem - Please Help

I own a 99 323 and recently the LH (Drivers) external door handle has decided not to work. The first time it decided to go dead I remember hearing something fall between the exterior door skin and the interior door panel. After removing the interior door panel and side air bag I found a small plastic grey clip that appears to have broke. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem, perhaps which part I may need to order, or if anyone knows how to remove the exterior door handle on an E46 so that I can get a better look at the problem? I've been having to open the door from the interior handle for the past 2 weeks and it's driving me insane. Any information would be helpful.

there are six screws holding the door on. three on handle. one behind the srs bag and one behind the door handle.

then 15 or so clips are holding it on. pry behind the panel carefully and itll pop off.
