1993 325I Head Gasket

Hello all,

I am thinking about buying a Bimmer because I have always wanted another one. I used to own a 89 325is and regret getting rid of it.
I am looking at a Newer 325I and it has a head gasket problem according to its owner. I was wondering how difficult is it for someone to do that themselves, or do you have to take it to a BMW mechanic. I was also wondering if it was an expensive project to complete, I figure if it goes to a mechanic it most certianly will be.

Thanks for any input that you have.

A head gasket change rates pretty high on the difficulty scale, especially if you're not a seasoned do-it-yourselfer. To give you an idea, here's a tutorial:

I'd say your best bet is to pass up that BMW and find another that is in better working condition, leave those headaches to someone else

Anyhow, welcome to UnitedBimmer
