E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
Looks like I'm gonna need new rims soon. Yesterday I was driving my brother back from the VA hospital here, and hit a huge pothole on the highway doing about 65mph. Because this goddamn fucking retarded state of mine does not think it's important to fix the roads, this is what happens:
This isn't the first time, and it won't be the last I'm sure. I think I'm gonna do away with the 17's and go with 16's this time around. And next time I see these idiot highway maintenance guys at the Dunkin Donuts, maybe I'll kick one of them square in the nuts.
I could try that. But actually, I'm not sure who would be responsible for maintaining an interstate highway?? It happened on Interstate 280 here in Jersey, so maybe it's a federal thing
Either way, I'll bet they'll piss on my letter and send it back wet. Assholes.

Dsky, try this link, there are some phone numbers perhaps you can get in touch with on one of the pages. I believe that the New Jersey DOT is responsible for the road.

Not if you send copies to the Governor, State Attys office and as many other dept heads. (don't get discouraged by replies saying "it's been directed to: or the "that's Dept X's jurisdiction" = patented pass the buck response) also a copy to a lawyer doesn't hurt and note it on your letter(s) to the state officials you send your complaint to.

All roads in a state are maintained by that state. I would go to the customer rep of NJDOT. If you can find them.

I will be very surprised if you get the state to pay for damages. NY & NJ are pains in the ass!!!!!! Unfortunately, I believe it will be as difficult as trying to get a dollar out of fifteen cents. Dude, definitely keep us posted and, GOOD LUCK! :-)

^^^Yea, that's why I'm not even going to bother. Most folks on this forum will never believe how the politics of the tri-state area works . . basically you're fucked, you could get somewhere someday, but it just isn't worth the trouble . . buncha goddamn schuysters around here.
