Darn Airbag Light~ HELP!

I bought the car with this light on . Dealer told me that it was either the seat belt sensor or the air bag module.

Can anyone instruct me on where and how to replace the seat belt sensor, or even the seat sensor?

Thanks!

let me guess you have an e36, yes common problem, somethign to do with the seatbelts it tips offt he airbag sensor, you can either buy the tool yourself or pay the dealer 85 bucks to reset it for u, i really have no idea how to replace this seatbelt sensor, howeveri believe its in the actual buckle, the thing that is stationary at the bottom of the seat(near the center counsole)

What goes bad is the electrical connector on the seat belt buckle. But you have to replace the entire belt recepticle.

You have to remove the seat to change it.

As far as getting the SRS light reset, try calling some independent import garages and see if they can do it. My local one I deal with charges $20.

A faulty seat belt sensor is usually the culprit. I would check that first (which, as peete says, demands replacing the entire belt receptacle).

Hmm, anyone know the part# for the seat belt recepticle? Dealer already reset the code and it came back.
