Hood Dampers not working

Yo yo peops... long time. My 328i just came back from the dealer - had a nice radiator explosion the other day... Anyway, I digress. I get the car back yesterday, and immediately notice that the hood will not stay up on it's own...

So, obviously the dampers are not working. Any suggestions on a cheap fix?

I am selling this FING car!

The only fix I know of is to replace the tubes that hold it.

Just replace the hood shocks. Real cheap fix.

Here's a link for Pelican Parts, the cost between $24 and $11, two per car. Be sure to pick up a couple clips too.

Oh, and they are part number 51-23-8-119-558. If you needed that.

xsperf, I hear you man, but it sucks ass in the snow.

FWD + 260 hp = me a happy camper. Plus, it has 110k less miles than my beast.

no. It's because I like the SE-R, and because my car is not fun anymore. I have done all I wanted to it. It has about 225 hp, and is getting older (going on year 10)... It's about time for an upgrade.

I looked at acura TLs which are also sweet but also 7k more.

I guess I don't really think about the maintanence cost for a few reasons..the main one being that we have always had vehicles with expensive maintanence..and the other main one that i don't have to pay for it..at least not until I have a job..
