Finally- real glass

What do you guys think of my switch?

As you might guess from the custom icon, they turn these on independent from all other lights:

It was a bit of a pain to do, but worth the effort. I didn't want them turning on every time the parking or headlights are on, and sometimes I want them on by themselves. Anyhow yea, finally bought some DEPO's and trashed those nasty plastic lenses. $189 on eBay including the 6000K halos, I couldn't pass them up

How did you do the switch? I don't know the e36 center consule that well. Does it have slots like that next to the cigarette lighter? Its very clean looking, I like it.

Isnt there a way to have just the angel rings on instead of the daytime running lights?

Here's a night shot

And here's a shot at dawn . .

RSF5: Yea, that's what an E36 center console looks like, I just added the switch. The slots are there for other options like heated seats, etc.

xsperf: No HID's. Just the standard H1 bulbs. I'm not a fan of the HID's, but I have to say that these halos are way too white compared to the H1 bulbs. What I really wish is a way to get the original BMW halos onto my car, so the color temp would match and wouldn't be too overpowering.

DEATH: AFAIK, US spec E36's don't have daytime running lights. But the euro ellipsoid headlights are prewired for a 5w bulb into the highbeam area, if you wanted that daytime lighting.

Well since im in Canada i dunno if mine is US spec. Canada is probably closer to Euro as weve had various Euro Spec M3s come to Canada.

I just want the rings to come on instead of the daytime running lights.Ill take a pic to show u what i mean.

looks great!

I was thinking about getting HID's also. Are H1 bulbs a lot brighter than the regular bulbs? I got some bulbs that are better than the stockies, but light output still isn't amazing or anything.
