And as far as only spending 2k, you guys seriously need to READ the post. I have the knowledge and tools to rebuild an entire front end if need be. Come on guys...I said i would like to spend around 2k, I didn't say that's ALL i was going to spend if the right car came along.
^^^you said body, not front end, and just salvage a car if your looking for something cheap you can pour countless hours into working on and not driving.

I'm not a hater. You met me in person, i just respond in kind when dipshits bust on me. I'm really serious about an e36, actually test drove a 325ic yesterday. If no one here is willing to take me seriously, I'll go elsewhere. I thought maybe a few people on here would offer some decent advice on what to check, look for, ect.

not at all, sorry if i said anything about spending money, i just saw the prices like that, if you are seriously considering doing some work on a car, i would recommend an auction

For 2k (or there-abouts) I'd be watching Craigs list and/or Ebay. As far as "salvage" cars - I wouldn't be too afraid of them, some are pretty good deals - not all of them are trashed refabs. Some are just insurance company auction cars (stolen recovery after Ins. company has already paid off the client. Auction cars, trade ins that have sat beyond "X" amount of time and title wasn't renewed.) Salvage titles differ between states & doesn't ness. mean it's been trashed beyond affordable repair. Some are drug dealer or crime vehicle confiscations

dude. I'm not hatin' on you. Just saying people seem to be hatin' on your thread.
Too bad your criteria are so specific. We could have worked out something around $2k for mine, but it is a 4-dr, Boston Green, with 197.2k miles on the odo.
