New suspension: clearance issue
Well i just got my car lowered with Koni adjustable springs and shocks. When it was done it looked good but i had only like 3 inches of ground clearnce. Hell i scraped the bumper twice on the way home. Now that its sat for a day its even lower. The splitters i have on only have like 2inches of clearance. I ripped half of one of the splitters of this morning on my way to work. Im really upset right now, i was told i would only have a 1"-1.5" drop in the front and when first lowered it was 1" now its like 2". I wont be able to drive the car anymore if it stays this low. My splitters which i payed $140 are useless now.Im really upset, ive been having issues with my car before that has made me consider selling it and now i almost have no choice but to. I cant afford to replace the the Konis i just put in cause they cost me a grand. So i need to figure out some way to increase the ride hight in the front while being able to keep my Konis of im fucked and the car goes for sale. I need help, i dont wanna sell it.

you said they are adjustable springs and shocks.. by this do u mean coil-overs? cus if thats the case then just roll up your sleeves and get in there and raise the ride height. certainly no reason to sell the car.. if they are not coilovers then you have a few other options let me know what exactly you have
|
Like 215bimmer said if they are ajustable just raise it a bit. But if not what did you do with your stock shocks/springs??
|
There only firmess adjustable not hieght. Im starting to wish i had gotten coil-overs.
|
You could have to get different springs.

you might wanna stick your oem suspension back in there just to get driving again. :dunno |

yeah man, just get some H&R sports for about 200-250 if you want to stick with a sport suspension that you wont scrape on

Switching out the springs is probably a lot easier then going to the trouble of selling it, especially if you think its too low. Keep the konis and run some H&R sports as suggested and You should have the drop you want.

depending on how mechanically inclined you are you can make brackets that will change nothing about the car's suspension except the height, but this will take some fabrication
|
that sucks. you should have went with bilsteins. the front sits a little higher than the back so there is not as many problems with scraping. i still have my splitters in good shape, you just have to get used to being very careful where and how you drive. i bet it looks pretty hot.

that sucks man. Handling is probably awesome though! My car looks ok lowered like 1.3 - 1.4" I got the uuc stage 3 a while ago and it is still easy to drive, etc. A bit firmer, but nothing extreme, and I dont bottom out too much.
Some pics would be cool though. It also seems that anyone with aftermarket suspension loses their splitters. If I had another car I would have put coilovers on my car, they are ftw. |
^^ Pics coming soon. It just snowed so it cant really leave the garage.
