Smokey Oil smell from AC/Heat
So I've been noticing when i turn on the air conditioning or heating (note my ac comprssor is F**ked, so when i say ac, i mean jsut blowing air, thats non circulatingh (the little circle arrow thing isnt turned on)
but I notice when i do it, like when Im sitting, i can smell like an oily smoke smell coming from the vents.....Now I check my oil reguarly and it stays at the same level........what could be causing this?
Note: when i got my oil changed, my oil pan was "wet" but I dont think that'd have anything to do with it. and when i popped my hood.....I saw a little tuff of smoke like In the very very back of my engine kinda near the bottom.
I just got my valve cover gasket changed so i dont know if that has anything to do with it.......but, it was like VERY back under the engine, and it was so small i had to stick my head in to check.
any ideas guys?

I think it may be an oil leak that burns off some exhaust parts and the smoke comes over to the intake for the heat and AC

Praise JESUS, it was only the valve cover gasket......that they already replaced, apparently it wasnt sealed correctly in the......u guessed it BACK LEFT COrner of the engine, right where I saw smoke. I drove it hard today, and guess what no smoke. I was worried it was head gasket, but.....thats not typical on bmw's. So i had to pay nothing. YAY

Seems like a small oil leak from the valve cover gasket as described in the previous posts

I would try to, but as far as I know, I doubt it's urgent.
