ok so i brought it to bmwsf and they charged me up the butt to say my injectors may be leaking, my cat should be changed, the o2 sensors i changed two years ago may be bad, and i should check my coolant temp sensor.
They quoted me at $3000 (for oem parts, which means it'll be bone stock still) I am assuming parts and labor and you all know it is not sure to pass smog even after all that but i believe it will.
Now, what i would like to know is
-Where can i get a cat for a decent price (i went to convertergeek.com but can't figure it out so i will call them)
-Where i can get new injectors
-How much would a catback system cost and any recommendations
I'm looking to spend $1000-2000 on parts alone (I am pretty sure that even though my uncle is a VW tech he can install the parts for me cheaper than BMWSF)
One last thing. Do you guys think it's worth having done at a shop since it would provide me with some typ of warranty on the work or do you think having my uncle install it would be alright?
I guess I got lucky..My car passed half a year ago and in AZ you are supposed to get it tested when you buy the car regardless of the last time it was tested. We took it and got it tested and it failed in almost everything lol, but then the nice lady at the dmv said that it passed half a year ago so whe gave us a one and a half year registration .

I don't feel you need a warranty on labor to work on the exhaust. I'm sure your uncle can do the job easily- it's pretty straightforward. Don't forget to buy new gaskets and seals.
