E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
Here is an update:
Could you please tell me which car would be a better choice? considering the 318is is a '97 model but the 325i is a '94 model?
I have another person willing to sell me his '94 325i for $6.5k
Here are the specs and pics:
1994 325i alpine white / dove grey int with 148k Miles
rocker panels painted white to match
20% tint
front plate eliminator
front m3 bumper
m3 side moldings
m3 style rear diffuser
clear tails, clear corners, clear sides
depo projectors w/ dde thinline rings
h1 bulbs in highs, lows, and fog lights
RMS chip
cosmos CAI
almsot new spark plugs
just changed oil.. mobil1 always
m3 exhaust
manarays 18"x8.5 rims (about 9/10 for quality) with 225s on front and 235s on rear...
blaupunkt mp3/cd stereo that matches the interior in color and the dotmatrix style...
new guibo, new 100% cooling system (replaced radiator, all hoses, all belts, terhmostat, thermostat housing, and waterpump) did a flush & fill...
Looks like a ton of mods, which means it has most likely been driven hard . If you're looking for the power, go 325. Not necessarily that one, but you can find a nice one for under $8k.

If I were you I would go with the granny car, 318. It looks in great shape and it probably wasn't driven very hard.
If you sold your 95 325i with 158k miles on it for 5.8k...that worries me, If the granny (thats right, a granny is selling me the granny car) gets what she wants I'm paying 5.5k for a '97 318is with 155k miles on it. That doesn't seem like a deal at all...

with my 2600 pound E30 318 with TMS chip i get 25-MPG dricing freeway and moutain roads. Highway i get 40mpg around 80mph.
also the M42/44(4 cylinder) is an inline 4. V4 would be a street bike.
4.5 sounds good.
as for the mileage...its not that bad. My car has 140k and it can still reliably do 1000mile trips no problem.
