electric fan won't stop! dead batterys suck!
So I took my 95 318 convertible to the store and went in. I heard the fan going but I knew it would stop. Well it didn't. An hour later, the fan was still going and my battery was dead. I got a jump and brought her home. The fan ran for a while, I went inside-back out, and the fan was off. I don't know what the deal is. I don't know if it's just a loose connection or what. I've had the car since July and this is the first time it's happened. Any Ideas???? HELP!!!!!!!!
luckily your fan was working...mine stopped and the car overheated.
heh

Thanks I'll check into the thermostat switch.... oh and I had no idea where the battery was! I was baffled. I've owned mostly jap (toyota and nissan) I didn't know the battery on bimmers wasn't in the engine compartment. I think it's underneath the passenger side dash. Is that right?
its in the trunk. Should be in the passenger side of the trunk .

Hiya guys.. I'm having problems with my electric fan as well; it does'nt turn of after driving. So, after reading this thread I would like to know where the Thermostat switch is located (on the side of the radiator?).
