Oil Pan Gasket

So while I was getting my oil changed they said around my oil pan gasket was a lil "wet" but nothing major

im assuming the 3 series has an oil pan gasket, i was curious is it a PITA to replace and is the part itself inexpensive?

thx

btw they said no oher leaks, 119k and hardly any oil leaks. YAY

Unless someone out there has a trick they can share, it's bitch, and then some. The engine has to be lifted up off the mounts, and a bunch of stuff has to come off before you can do that :( You may be better off using Bar's Leaks Engine Oil Stop Leak, or switching to a higher viscosity oil.

hmm

well that sucks, altho he said it was very minor, and i've neevr noticed my oil going down cause it's just "wetness"

the part I assume is inexpenvie, labor would prolly cost me around oh 350 i'd say? does that sound normal for a normal garage

... :( I didn't know that! I was planning to remove oil pan on my next oil change, clean it and change oil pan gasket. I don't have leaks or anything, but I was thinking this was one of those "change it while you're there" things, like, for example valve cover gasket or something...
The car has A LOT of miles on it, and I've had it for six months only...I just wanted to "make sure", but I guess this is one of those things you don't touch unless you have a problem...
