search please. its been asked thousands of times. but to humor you...these cars with regular maintenance are essentially immortal. the m50 (which you have) is just bulletproof. i have 160k on mine and have never had any engine problems what so ever. (knock on wood). ive seen e36's with up to 300k and no rebuilds. just change belts, hoses, plugs, and the other usual suspects and you are good to go. the water pump is a must as well. at 118k your engine is just getting into its prime and has a long life ahead of it. assuming that you are taking care of it, not redlining every shift, etc.
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
I dont redline my car except once or twice a day ya know to keep the cobwebs out hehehe
but I drive an auto. but yea, just curious and btw searching takes way to much time. tooo many results

the car wants to be driven. itll last longer if you give it a working once in a while. its a BMW, if you never shift it past 3k or so than you are not using it for how it is designed. you belong in a different vehicle
not talking about you personally but to the general public

i just dont think its necessary all the times. sometimes. not all the time tho.
i dont want to be the clown crusing in a 45 or accelerating quickly to a low speed limit (or slightly above ) with the engine revved all high.
