E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
one thing that i don't like, mechanically they are awesome and hold up for a very long time, but anything plastic dies in about 6-7 years. 90% of the little things I buy to replace are plastic pieces which just annoy me becaue they fall off or break. prime example was my glovebox button. I had to order a glove box button because the plastic clips inside broke off, airbag tags, cupholders, etc...
^^^ the E36 was designed to be disposable, BMW figured no one would want to keep it more then 10 years or so. E36 is still nice, but thats just a little historical insight on it.

not talking about you personally but to the general public
perfectly worded. You have to get the carbon out once in a while right?
but realistically, if you maintain it properly, and dont beat the hell out of it, it should last around 300k.
