I have same sound. i believe it's lifters. if it is the lifters in fact.....are they like going to like break since their making that sound, or is it more of an annoyance?

Hey man, if it is the same thing I had, try putting some techron or some other fuel system cleaner in with your next tank of gas. I did that and I haven't heard the sound since.

OK guys, apart from the valve lifters, I was advise by the mechs at local bimmer to check up on the oil pump too. Drop in oil pressure, does contribute to the clicking noise.
