Just bought a Bimmer
I just bought a 1995 325i and was wondering about a few things, ex. the a/ manual option does it just make the gears longer in manual mode and any neat things to know about them it didnt come with a owners manual... Thanks for looking

o ok thanks and would happen to know anything about my driver side door when i got it I could unlock it fine all the doors would open then like an hour later i couldnt lock or unlock my doors from the driver side but I can unlock everything from the passenger side can u point me in the right direction? thanks

Maybe I read the question wrong, but the A/M switch shouldnt make the gears longer or shorter.
The M means it's whatever position your stick is at. If you're in D1(with the M switch engaged), then you get first gear only. D2 (with the M switch engaged), is second only (WITH NO FIRST) and D3(with the M switch engaged), is third only with no first or second. Its just that one gear you get.
I know when you put it in D3 (with the A switch engaged), it latens the shift point and takes 4th away.....
