E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
I am thinking about getting some Angel eyes/DDE's for my E36, but on umnitza's website it says: "The angel eyes will work with all styles of headlights except E36 OEM US/Canadian lights." What does this mean? If I have stock headlights does that mean I can't get these?
here's the deal:
euro spec headlights are made of glass and can be taken apart for the installation of "angel eyes". us spec headlights (the ones with the three "nubs" on the front pane) cannot be taken apart and are made of plastic.
so, no, they will not work on your car, if you have plastic/nubby headlights.
i'm pretty upset about that too, i want angel eyes, but i'm too cheap to actually buy a full set.

in most cases yes. browse ebay or bimmerforums classifieds for some euro projectors and dde's. there are deals ALL the time. i picked up my depo projectors with angel eyes for about 240 shipped. excellent deal and i literally get compliments on them about once a week. VERY good mod considering the us spec headlights may as well be flashlights
Ok awesome. I do not remember seeing any little nubs on the headlight, but I do remember the car that was sitting next to mine, and it did have them. I remember thinking that it looked really bad because the plastic was all yellow and just looked old.

Yeah you'll have to replace the plastic lens. Autosol makes a plastic revitalizer the will get rid of most of the yellow, I think BAVAUTO sells it.
Thanks, but I was talking about the car next to mine, it was another 325 I believe, but the headlights were yellow and had the nubs, and I do not remember mine having them.

if you want to get rid of yellow and swirling on the plastic headlights just wetsand them with a low grit sandpaper, or maybe its high I get confused by the numbers, but I did it haha
fuck angel eyes. just get some euro projectors with hid's. much better. and if you go with new headlights get the zkw's not depos. i have seen both in person and the zkw's are much better imo.
