hi, noob here

im new to bmw but i get along with cars real well, i just wanted to see if i could get some from yall.
it's a BMW 1984 318I Project Car, it will be costing me $150 and its totally stripped, comes with a main harness and thats about it, well i would like to make this a track car, roll cage, all that good stuff. now to my question, whereabout do i go to get an engine for this car, and what are my options years and hp wise. i mean i have time, and i can earn the money i will need, i may not finish it in a month, but in a few for sure. thanks for any input, thanks!

With so much to do on this car, I'd start with making a huge Google list on parts

well, you could defiantely use the S14(not the nissan)... thats the e30 m3 engine, however those are hard to come around, the thing is, for the easiest fit thats your best option b/c your car originally came w/a 4 cylinder engine, so in order to put an I6 in there you would need to rearrange things a little including the engine mounts... either way, good luck

yeah for an I6 you would also need a different driveshaft, etc I would assume. You could probabloy get an m42, or m44 motor and rebuild it to produce a lot more power.

yea, i think for a track car, your best be would be a turbo 4 cyl.. or if u can get ur hands on a 325, that would make things much easier
