I know Im getting it done, im jsut trying to make sure it's the chain tensioner, i dont have alot of money, the fact that it does that when the engine is hot, is what makes me think it might not be.
dam u guys are lucky. Its seem easy to get to that engines Timing chain. Not so much in my M42.
Ive never heard of this before. Always learn something i guess.

mabye the tensioner becomes loose after it heats up.

it does not cost anything to pull it apart. it is easy. all you have to do is remove the ingnition coils and abd valve cover. simply a matter of undoing some screws.
