Never Seen this before

Just wondering what triggers the check engine light to come on.
I haven't had codes read, just like to know what it could be before I put the car away.
Thanks in advance

No, he's right. That's the most common check engine light. Or the 1st question we ask the customer when they mention their check engine light.

If it's loose, it will trigger a check engine light because of pressure. Death yours has that flap in it that seals is why yours works. Take it off completely once and see what happens. (we'll wait ..lol)
