E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
Okay, after three days (learning and working and driving to get parts time), my car is back on the ground and I just went through the "bedding in stage" around my neighborhood. I got about 13 confused looks as I was driving around the circle with my hazards on gunning it and braking irradically.
But, I didn't die! For my first time attempting/knowing anything about brakes, I think it went well. (Except for the confusion with the ABS sensors and the pad sensors... ) The Brembos work awesome!!! No more squeeling or rattling (the front ones were warped). Now they smell bad cuz I just broke them in, but I love them.
I'm also taking my four old rotors and making four world clocks with them: St Louis, New York, London and Munich.
My summer projects are done. Now I just need to get it alligned.
Thank you everyone for your help and support.

Amanda, Congrats on getting this done, I bet in hindsight the brakes seem like an easy job now (1st time doing anything usually takes a little longer). Show us how your world clock thing works out.
What was the end verdict as to where the new sensors went?
just like everyone said, there are only two sensors per car, front drivers and rear pass. the other ones that I discovered were ABS sesnors. i made a big deal about nothing. oh well.
and nick, i think that I could probably do it again in about five hours, granted i have the tools and correct parts.
